Falken Ziex ZE950 A/S Tire Review

The Falken ZIEX ZE950 A/S tire is an all-season tire for passenger cars and crossovers. Not the most famous, but also inexpensive, at the same time very economical and balanced, providing a comfortable ride and effective braking on wet surfaces. The tire is an excellent choice for drivers of modern sedans, sports cars, and crossovers, for whom durability, all seasonality, and excellent high-speed performance are a priority.

Pros:

  1. Excellent grip on dry and wet roads.
  2. Performance on light snow.
  3. Cornering stability.
  4. Uniform wear and long tread life.

Cons:

  1. Noisiness.

Overall thoughts

The asymmetrical tread design is made to keep performance on any winter or summer surface at a premium. The wide longitudinal rib, which is located closer to the outer zone of the tire, consists of three rows of complexly spaced small tread blocks. They provide good traction on any surface, as they are located almost in the middle of the tire tread contact patch. Their diagonal shape and positioning allow for the additional surface area of the engagement edges, increasing traction and improving braking. Also, this longitudinal zone enables you to enhance the car’s manoeuvrability, allowing you to more clearly and predictably enter the turn.
When driving on wet roads, the narrow longitudinal rib of the tires cuts the water, which from under the tire has many grooves, edges and notches.

The tread contains a high content of silicon dioxide, which provides good grip on all types of roads, and thereby prolongs the life of the tires. The unique rubber compound also helps the tires maintain the same performance regardless of temperature. The tire is available in 95 sizes with rim radius from 15 to 20 inches.

Driving on dry, wet, and snowy roads

The asymmetric tread pattern quickly and efficiently removes water and snow from the tire contact patch. The new compound contains a thermoactive polymer resin. As a result, the rubber is protected from the harmful effects of the environment and changes in temperature conditions. The tire stands out for its stable running without aquaplaning and skidding, both on wet and slippery tracks. The tire can operate in different climates thanks to the new Dynamic Range Technology.

Drivers reviews

Drivers report that the tires are generally good, the price-performance ratio is good, and the pattern is similar to the Continental range. Most of the buyers noticed that with a reasonably active driving style, it wears out quickly.
