Overview

The Goodyear Assurance MaxLife was produced in 2018. The main market for these tires is North America. The tires were designed for minivans, crossovers, and passenger cars. The tire is extremely durable, long-lasting, and hard-wearing. According to information provided by Goodyear, the durability of this tire is recognized as the highest of all the tires made by the company in its 120-year history.
During production, the company placed increased emphasis on the most important parameter – the service life of the car tire. For this purpose, the product design was developed by means of reinforcing elements and insertions, tread layers were equipped with special rigid belts and additives increasing lightness of rolling were added to the rubber mixture. The latter quality is no less important than the others, because tires that roll easily without unnecessary energy expenditure are less prone to premature wear, while the wear itself is more even, as the load is distributed more evenly over the working area.

Service indicators

The company has used new tire wear indicators. They look like numbers 2, 4, 6, and 8 in the tire grooves. Thanks to these numbers, you will know how much tread depth is left. The number 8 means the tire has 8/32 inches of tread depth remaining. If the gauges show 2/32 inches of depth, the tires need to be replaced. The tires also have standard wear indicators that are located in the tire grooves.

Driving on dry, wet, and snowy roads

Special notches in the ribs of the tire allow for a more confident response of the tire when slowing down on dry roads. Tire noisiness is reduced by shoulder notches, allowing you to enjoy comfortable, quiet rides. Optimal fuel consumption and really long mileage are guaranteed by special energy-saving components and additives in the tread material.
The side of the tire has notches needed to give the tire more confidence on snowy trails. These details, as well as the small notches in the central ribs, are the reasons why the tire is all-season.
Four drainage channels are capable of immediately evacuating large amounts of sediment from the tread, thus protecting the rubber from loss of traction and handling on wet roads. Surprisingly, on the wet road tires behave much better than other tires from the same price category. The tire provides good handling even in heavy rain.
Tires have poor snow performance and this is one of the main drawbacks. They can handle light snow, but we do not recommend using them in harsh winters.
When it comes to off-roading, you can put these tires on your SUV, but this is not a guarantee that the tires will remain free of cuts and punctures.

Drivers’ opinions

Drivers note that the noise is present, but not much. The tire is relatively soft, so the bumps in the road are not felt much while driving. The tire even copes well with a little dirt. Buyers say that the tire is suitable not only for the city but also for rural roads.
