Simperit is a manufacturer of rubber products in general. Their tire production began in 1956, and it grew to significant lengths over the years till their purchase by famed Continental and beyond.
So, they have been a part of Continental family for a long time now, which gave them access to a lot of superior technology and expertise. Even before, they were pretty successful (one of the top producers in the German-speaking world) before 1985. Now, their tires are generally very well-made.
A lot of their options are regarded as high-performance, and these are extremely effective at doing their job. However, it doesn’t mean you need to specifically buy these for your car. There are some very good affordable candidates, like the Speed Grip 2.
The name is not just a blind marketing – Simperit specifically focuses on providing good grip for all of their tires. Some – especially the summer models – lag behind a bit in terms of performance. However, most of them (like Speed Grips and Master Grips) are extremely good.
Given Simperit is an Austrian company that should know a lot about rough climate and terrain – they understand the importance of good traction. It’s their key quality, they invested a lot into making tires grip the ground very tightly and not be cumbersome at the same time.
The longevity can also be pretty high – up to the 50.000 km at times. However, this assessment mostly applies to the winter rubber. Their summer variants aren’t as great, some just pop before even making it to 10.000 km.
The prices vary. You can find a couple of fairly cheap tires or spend a small fortune on high-performance rubber. Thankfully, there are a lot of products to pick from, and you can find something to suit you specifically. Just don’t buy summer tires, they aren’t very good.
